Parish Family News

WELCOME TO NEW MEMBERS It is with great pleasure that we welcome the following persons to parish membership: Joan Allen of Sun City Center, from the Episcopal Church; Wesley Foster of Brandon from the Anglican Church; Gary and Patricia Graziano of Riverview, from the Episcopal Church and the Roman Catholic Church, respectively; Cynthia Rodriguez of Brandon, from the Roman Catholic Church; and Paul and Nancy Weiss of Sun City Center, from the Episcopal Church.

ILLNESSES. Our prayers are asked for Bob Plummer, who has been hospitalized because of a fall and is recuperating in the Medical Unit of University Village where he lives.

IN MEMORIAM. The parish has recently lost two beloved members:
Bernice Belland, wife of Junior Warden Jim Belland, died on January 9th; a memorial service was held at St. Matthew's on January 21. Bernice was buried in their family plot in Union Grove Cemetery, Lithia Springs, Georgia, on January 13. Ronald Kaye, husband of Pat Kaye, died on January 24, after a long illness. A memorial service will be held at St. Matthew's on Wednesday, February 4 at 7 p.m. Our prayers are extended to the families of Bernice and Ronnie that they may receive comfort from God in their sorrow.
Our prayers are also offered to Fr. Bill and Lou Anne, and their family members, on the death of his father, William H. Perkins, Sr., on January 25. Mr. Perkins lived in Orlando. Services will take place in North Carolina at a later date.

CONGRATULATIONS and best wishes to those celebrating birthdays in February and early March: (FEB) Brittany Roberts (5th), Eunice Hall (9th), Pamela Asghar 13th), Donna Casavant (16th), Dorothy Friend (19th), Mary Williamson (24th), Barbara Chaney (25th), Wesley Foster (28th), and Cynthia Rodriguez (28th). (MAR) Gloria Zimmerer (2nd), Myrtle Court (3rd), Russell Alexander (5th), and Jeff Kleinotas (10th). CONGRATULATIONS and best wishes also to those celebrating anniversaries: (FEB) Joseph and Joan Abrams (5th), Carmen and Laurel Natale (13th), Fr. Bill and Lou Anne Perkins (22nd), and Barbara and Lewis Chaney (25th)

A Solemn Requiem Mass is scheduled for Saturday, August 10th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Matthew's. The service will be followed by a reception in the parish hall.
